GRP Roof Matting and Tissue
Chopped strand Mat and Surface tissue for use in fibreglass (GRP) roofing projects.
The randomly-placed glass strands are held together in a mat by a binder. This binder is broken down by applying polyester resin, leaving a cured glass-reinforced plastic. The strands are consolidated into the plastic resin by using a roller. The CSM we sell here is Lloyd's approved ie. approved for use in boat manufacture - which means it is excellent for repelling water in a roofing application.
For a smoother more professional-looking finish, this can be followed by a layer of surface tissue applied in the same manner. These are then covered by the final topcoat.
